Gestalt Living and Learning
GIS-International is an international institute for training in Gestalt methodology.
GIS-International started the first training Group in 1976 and has since then offered high
quality teaching, learning and training seminars.
All training programs and seminars are based on Gestalt theory, methodology, and principles and
are practiced matching the highest International standards. The Gestalt Institute of Scandinavia is
certified by EAGT (European Association of Gestalt Therapy), EAP (European Association of Psychotherapy) and DPFO (Danish Psychotherapist Association). Read about our certifications
As an institute for training in Gestalt methodology, we work in the areas of therapy, personal growth, creativity in art and development of leadership and organisations. The institute was founded in 1976.
Now, many international students are enrolled in the 4-year training programs.
GIS-International arranges long-term Gestalt training programs:
- Gestalt Psychotherapist and Organizational Consultant – Certified 4-year Gestalt Training Program.
- Personal Gestalt Practitioner – First 2 years of the Gestalt Training Program.
- Creative Expressiveness and Personal Leadership – 2-year Gestalt Training Program for Actors and Instructors of Theatre
- Post Graduate Programs – Training and Supervision.
- Gestalt Pre-Training – a Program of 3 intensive seminars, 120 Hours of 60 Minutes.

The Training Program
The training program focuses on educating professionally competent Gestalt Psychotherapists with chosen specialty in clinical psychotherapy, emotional and educational development and management, team- and organizational development.
We furthermore offer intensive seminars in personal development, couple-seminars to be held as short or long courses, and individually tailored coaching programs, supervision and supplementary training programs.
Our leaders
Our leaders are an international team of trainers and therapists from Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, Holland, Sweden and Australia. They all have far-reaching psychological, pedagogical and managerial experience.
GIS-International’s Danish leaders are members of the Danish Psychotherapy Association, and GIS-International practices according to the association’s ethical rules.
The Home of GIS-International
The GIS-International headquarters and major education and training center is Hegnegaarden.
This is two farms located on the island of Orø, close to the water and beautifully situated amongst fields and forests, just an hour’s drive from Copenhagen Airport.
